![]() ![]() I am writing in continuation of my last two posts on this topic- Small steps and simple commitments that can make a BIG difference to the future that we make for ourselves. In my home, any envelops that we get are preserved and reused. If they are used for an informal purpose, we just cut off the old text and write the new details on the envelop. Otherwise, we open up the envelope by carefully opening its glued seams. If it can not be done easily, it is possible to do this by keeping the envelop above steam for a few minutes. My mother does it while cooking food! Once the envelop is opened out, we turn turn it inside out and glue it again. Now the written part is on the inside where it is not visible and the outside is as good as a new envelop! I request my father to bring home any paperwork from his office that needs to be discarded and is used from one side. I use the clean side of these used papers for my revision work and practice. Once used from both sides, we send them for recycling after shredding. We shred them as they are from the office and just in case they contain any confidential information. You may think that this is no big deal, indeed it is not! Simple and effective ways of saving paper that can be easily used by anyone and everyone... |
