![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am really happy that the school has taken the initiative to go green and keep environment in mind. Our school has taken various steps in order to inculcate the feeling of being eco- friendly among the students. As lot of paper was wasted to put up important information on the bulletin board. But now our school puts up and update the important information on the screen hung up on the walls. Solar panels are put on the top of the roof and today, the canteen and the book store runs on solar panel. Prefects and environment monitors have been assigned who make sure that the lights and AC are switched off when not in use. I am also a member of Eco committee of our school, where a group of students sit together in order to discuss environment issues and measures and action plans that can be executed to curb them.
Eco garden is being constructed in our school, a garden decorated entirely with plants and eco-friendly products. Bokashi bin is set up in our school which concentrates on composting food waste products. Water waste treatment plant has been functioning in our school for the past 10 years. Our school has now reached new horizons when yesterday (9th October 2013) they inaugurated a green house. Yes, our school now has a greenhouse and every student got an opportunity to plant a sapling in it. Apart from that, our school occasionally organizes can collection drive and paper recycling campaign in order to create a sense of eco-friendly thoughts in the students? mind.
Our school is taking a lot of steps to save the environment and make it a better place for us to live. I also encourage other students to come up with new ideas and spread them across in your school so that every place and every country on earth can work towards sustainable living. |
