The project consists of planting avocado trees in three districts of Rwanda for mitigation to Climate Change by carbon sequestration in order to maintain our country atmosphere reducing the greenhouse effect. This Project will contribute a lot in the country sustainable development and poverty reduction (EDPRS III) by improve the livelihood of citizens in selling the produced avocado fruits. It will involve experienced and qualified staff in the activity. There will be a follow up and evaluation to make sure that the project has satisfied the needs of people for sustainable development.

The objectives and activities of this project are:

1. To contribute in the country social-economic development sustainable by reducing the poverty among citizens in getting incomes from the production of the avocado this will be sell.

2. To mitigate to Climate Change impact on Environment by reducing Green House Gases in carbon sequestration by planted avocado fruit trees.

3. To stop wind and shade effect cloches on landscape by the planted avocado fruit trees.

 The expected results of this project are:

 - Reduction of the Climate Change impact on environment in the absorption of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere by planted avocado trees.

  - Improvement of the livelihood, poverty reduction and social economic development of the citizens by the access of nutrients from avocado fruits and incomes from selled product.

 -The shades and wind cloches will be stop due to planted avocado fruit trees.

The tools that will be used include climate change mitigation materials and materials used in agriculture

The project results will be disseminated through written reports. They will be given to all stakeholders in the project.

Outcomes

This Project will give jobs to many young graduates Biodiversity Conservation, geography, biology, environmental management and agroforestry. We plan to recruit 200 young people to cover the three districts.

After implementing this Project, the people will benefit from the good atmosphere and will be healthy from the nutrients of avocados fruit trees, poverty reduced by financial incomes from the production and shades and wind cloches will be also maintained . After planting trees we will teach people to maintain, protect and conserve the planted avocado fruit in order to have a sustained high production in short time that usually.
