     Yesterday was Green Consumer Day . I was sitting with my parents and suddenly the door bell rang. I opened the door and saw staff from "Gulf News" holding a beautiful "Go Green " bag made of Jute as a gift for me/our family. Actually Gulf News(UAE's leading daily national newspaper) is completing their successful 35 years on 30th Sept , yes tomorrow is their 35th birthday. To celebrate this and to thank their 100,000 subscribers like me , they thought of this great green idea of distributing a jute bag tagged "Go Green" to each of the 100,000 subscribers. What a nice and eco style way of commemorating this special day! This way they have proved that they not only publish go green /green living articles but also follow its principles. This is a true example of "Practice before you preach". Media has much wider reach than any single ambassador so there can not be a better way to spread the message to "Go Green". I was truely delighted to see the bag and that too on "Green Consumers Day" Lets all "Go Green" . Say no to plastic bags and go for such jute bags. |
