![]() ![]() Have you been to a Korean restaurant? Or a Korean friend's house? You would be surprised by the number of dishes put on the table. In Korea, as a tradition, every meal comes with side dishes. The number and amount of side dishes has been the symbol of family prosperity and good luck. But, naturally, this custom leads to the food waste problem. Lots of awareness campaigns led by government or private institutions have donehowever, old habits die hard. Prior to Korean thanks giving break, lasting 5 days this year, I did awareness campaign with my friends around the community. I gain some pounds not to waste any food over the break which will be the small sacrifice(?) I am willing to take. Recently, I saw a news regarding the seriousness of climate change we faced at current. If we keep our living style as it is, the ice in the arctic will disappear by 2050. How horrible that be... Again, do a little thing like reducing food waste will surely do the work to help out our planet. |
