![]() ![]() ![]() Dear fellow TUNZA members, I believe that all of us feel the need for green living. Many new ways of green living are coming up and research is going on to find eco-friendly alternatives of energy, production and everything that requires burning of carbon-containing fuels. Today I visited a place in my current city of Patna, which is the only one of its kind in the whole state of Bihar in India. It has 10 acres of land covered with numerous species of trees and people dedicated towards conserving the environment. Father Robert Athickal founded the place and has been running it selflessly for several decades! The place is called Tarumitra Campus which is the home of the nationally renowned organisation Tarumitra. I had a talk with Father Robert regarding my plan of action for the next six months and the coordination Tarumitra and I can have. He talked about conservation of electricity, biodiversity and the promotion of organic farming. Organic farming is an idea new to Bihar but it is very effective in minimising health problems arising due to the use of chemical fertilizers on crops. Organis farming uses organic decompose as nutrition for crops. Fallen leaves, old vegetables and organic waste can be put to use through organic farming. So our next campaign together will focus on saving electricity and promoting organic farming. Wish me luck for them! Thanks
