 Students For The Earth is just 6 months old and the amount of love and support it has been earning from many students, parents, their teachers and organizations have been very encouraging. And today on International Peace Day, we celebrated our 1000th like on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/studentsfortheearth The whole credit for the great fan base is for our amazing fans and members who have been working since Sfe.'s inception to make it one of the best youth groups. :D What makes us different is the way we engage our fans on our page and along with that difference in the events, etc. We have a lot of online contests, for eg, in 6 months we had conducted about 7 contests. The number of quality entries in these competitions justify the amount of interest the students have in Protecting the Environment. We had participated in Goumbook's seed collection event for Give A Ghaf Campaign and also conducted an Iftar for over 250 labourers in Sharjah. We also gifted some trees to the labourers and spread the message of a green future. :) Our recent outside event was the event where we sold pearls in Big Heart's campaign where over 30 members of Students For The Earth participated which raised a good sum of money for helping out Syrian Refugee children. Another landmark achievement was the launch of the Eco-Youth magazine by Mr. Collin Gomes and Mr. Keenan Pimenta, supervisors of Our Own English High School, Sharjah (Boys' Branch). This magazine was appreciated by many people and also had articles from students all over the UAE. We are a member of Earth Charter Youth Groups and also a part of the coallition of Peace One Day, member of The Ocean project, End Ecocide, etc We also have partnering organizations who have registered with Students for the Earth promising that they would also create a difference in the environment in their locality.
