World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity to celebrate the spirit that inspires humanitarian work around the world. Each year, aid workers and their organizations support tens of millions of people who have been affected by war, disaster or the crises that flow from poverty, inequality and underdevelopment.
In 2012, the humanitarian community reached more than 1 billion people globally through the I Was Here campaign.
In August 2012, under the patronage UN Messenger of Peace and Chairperson of the International Humanitarian City IHC HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the IHC, with the support of its partners and key Dubai organizations, organized the World Humanitarian Day in Dubai. This also marked the beginning of the annual awareness campaign and WHD celebrations in the UAE.

In Dubai the Humanitarian Agency set out the goal for 2013 is to build on this and to seize this goodwill and do something that has never been done before.

I was part of the event activities that took place today at Dubai Mall, the biggest mall in UAE for WHD2013.  I shared and inspired many members of SynergY to visit and cast their choice to what they feel the world needs more, this was a very interesting event and I am sure that the collected statistics will help define future goals for policy makers.
