DMZ photo exhibition

by | 12-08-2013 02:54

August 2nd, I visited the DMZ photo exhibition which was held in Seoul. It was a photo exhibition hosted by our research center so I was somewhat impelled to go. The weather was dreadful with rain pouring down and I had to ask several people to find the location.

However, all that hard work was worth it because I was able to enjoy the beautiful photos taken by our teacher in the Research Institute. There was an eagle which looked back with a piercing look and water deer hopping around the rice paddies. The aura of the photos seemed to emanate small room. As I have mentioned before in my introduction, I am part of the DMZ youth explorers which is managed by the DMZ ecology research institute.

I was able to feel how much care the photo taker took to take the photo. My teacher told me that sometimes he has to remain in the same place for hours to take the photos he wants to take. In order to capture the true beauty of nature, patience is required. I was especially astonished by four photos of one tree. This tree was taken every season and each photo represented each season. I was amazed how a tree could look so much different during each season.

The visitors were certainly astonished by the rare vistas. They were all whispering as if the words would take away the beauty of the photos. I was proud that I was a member of the institute. I would love to share the photos I have seen with all of you but because unfortunately, I was not supposed to take picture of the photos.
