All of us were making "Biopori" Holes in Kemiling, Lampung Province, Indonesia. The place that near my house. Biopori holes has been widely known in Indonesia for several years. Biopori holes was claimed to be able to minimize flooding, help channeling rainwater runoff back to ground thus maintaining ground water retention, and reduce landfill by self-managing domestic organic waste. It was really exciting activity!
