What is the MG food?

Are the products that were made from a genetically modified organism, because are food that have genes from other animals or plants for having better qualities the principal idea from the MG food it´s to make food more resistant to the pests, that conserve in a better way, and that the food have better qualities for offering in the market, and we are referring to better qualities in a way for trying to make products bigger, and more attractive for the population that consume.

Advantage from de MG foods

• The people can consume food with more vitamins, proteins, minerals, and with less fat.
•   Increase the shelf life of fruits and vegetables.
•   Increase the production of food.
• Lower cost in the agriculture.
• Drought tolerant crops.
• Crops more resistant to the attack from viruses, fungi or insects that affects to the production of the plants.

Disadvantage from the MG foods

• Increase the chemical contamination because with the herbicide tolerant plants, the farmers can use large amounts of the herbicide.
• Modification the habits from the pests, making that search other food sources.
• Because of the use of chemicals, affects to the biodiversity of fauna and flora.
• Because of the toxins, kill animals or insects that are beneficial for humans.
• Because of the MG the ecosystem react to the change altering the balance in the nature.

In my opinion the MG food can be beneficing for the humans in a lot of ways, but the problem is that we aren´t considerate what are the effects in the ecosystem, there are some MG food that are accepted to be sell in the markets, but there are a lot of other types of MG food that aren´t accept to be sell, so it can be really dangerous for the population because of the effects that can react in the human  the MG food it´s not natural food, and we don´t know what effects can react in the humans in the future and when we start to consume this type of product we are affecting to the balance in the ecosystem like the bees that make the pollination, can transport the gen of the plants to other plants and affect to other species of plants and also because of the chemicals it can  reduce more the population of bees in the world and not only that, all the plants and animals that are in the media of the MG crops are going to react to the change in a bad way.

My Country Ecuador decide to be a country that don´t use MG seeds, because we offer to the world natural products and we want to conserve how we are recognized in the world, but also we are open to have a few exception in the future but only if it´s really necessary.
