I would like to share with all of you about the charity event organised yesterday by ?Students for the Earth ? at Sharjah labour camp area to offer/donate Iftar to about 250 needy labourers. As soon as I came to know of this event , I agreed to volunteer for it as I believe in sharing and giving to those who are needy and less priviledged. All volunteers reached the venue around 5pm and started preparing for Iftar offering . Head caps and hand gloves were distributed to be worn from hygiene point of view Then mattresses were laid down and then the sheets were spreaded for workers & labourers to come and sit. Then laban drink and water were kept on the sheets . By around 6.45 pm everything was ready. Workers from all around the area and camps started coming from 6.45 pm itself. At 7 pm , volunteers started putting biryani (cooked rice)and fruit in the plates and kept them on the sheets. As soon as Azan prayer call was heard from mosque , these workers performed their prayer / rituals , broke their fast and started eating . It was so nice to see them breaking their fast and eating together happily. We had heard that this is one of the poorest places in Sharjah where normally charity organisations do not reach and these workers are often deprived of good meals . So it was decided to serve these poor and needy workers with good Iftar. They were really very delighted and enjoyed eating what they were served.
