          Last week while I was at Wembley Stadium ground, London for "The Color Run" , I noticed people throwing cans and plastic bottles in the ground. As this run had attracted huge crowd , so at the end of the race , the ground was seen flooded with hundreds and hundreds of cans and plastic bottles. I could not see that as it was giving a very untidy look and also being an environment activist , I found it really waste of recyclable material which, if seen from our eyes, is very useful recycleable material and should not be added to landfill but from the eyes of a common man (who is not environment friendly) , these are just used cans /bottles which should be trashed. I immediately decided to collect all these . I took the tool in my hand and started collecting these . I and my parents spent 3 hours and at the end of it , I was so satisfied that I did my duty as an environmentalist. Outside many houses there in London , I saw blue , green , red boxes for segregating waste at source but I was not sure if in this ground , these would be properly segregated by waste collecter. All of us and more and more people in society should realise this and take it up as personal task whenever we see such recycleable material being discarded. |
