by George Zacharia | 10-07-2013 03:47

"The world is beaming with inventions, discoveries and new technologies, and we have to discover and encourage the budding youth who could change the face of tomorrow for the better."

Our Own English High School, Sharjah (Boys' Branch) conducted the "SparkX 2013" exhibition. This exhibition is conducted in the school every two years and is open for all to see. The exhibition was conducted for 2 days, i.e. 3rd and 4th July 2013.

There were 33 exhibits with each of them hosting about 7 projects each. 10 best projects were selected from all of the projects and were given the best project title, for which they would be awarded. The best projects were, Art Talks, Art Club, Hindi, Greek Granduer, Water Magic, Heart, Sixth Sense, Macbeth play, Hydraulic city and the Ellipse.

The event also had some amazing and interesting exhibits like Lazer Maze too.

The English department converted the whole auditorium into the Shakespearean Era with plays, displays, etc. The Arabic department showcased the beauty of UAE culture, The Art department displayed paintings from various students, teachers, etc. The science department comprised many rooms with many projects in various themes from Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The commerce department had a business fair organized while the History and Geography departments showed models of the Greek Civilisation and River cycle respectively.

The computer department had projects including sixth sense (where our hands can control a computer from a distance), iTable (where you can use a special pen and a wii remote to convert any screen into touch screen), etc.

The maths department had many projects, Hindi dept. created a village with puppetry shows, dances, etc, the French had a play, Malayalam had dances, models, and Urdu had a live poetry exhibit. The Pe dpt. had yoga demonstrations, stadium models, Primary dept. had food adulteration as their topic.

It was fun and interesting to see all these amazing things and all the visitors enjoyed the experience.

Now, the part related to environment J, there were two special exhibits related to environment and there were some other projects in other !==!==!--object--====s that also focused on the same message. The economics dept. set up a Green Economy exhibit where ways, etc were shown how we can be a part of a Green Economy. The school eco club had an amazing exhibit where they showed pictures of things made from recyclable material or better known as ?BEST OUT OF WASTE?. And co-incidentally the exhibit was called ?Eco-genX? (which I myself associated with Eco Generation).

It was a great day. Hope all of you who were not able to come can see some of the pictures I was able to collect from my friends! J
