![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sharjah is a beautiful emirate, dedicated to its heritage. Bee?ah has taken over the task of progressing towards a 100% landfill diversion target set for the Emirate of Sharjah by the end of the first quarter of 2015. This movement is visible throughout. The cleaners & cleaning machines are all around, day & night. I noticed early morning at 05:30 AM, when I was preparing to catch my school, the Bee?ah workers were dedicated to cleaning, Sorting the recyclables, etc. Also, Late night at 10:30 PM the dedicated lot was busy in the task of picking up waste from road, vacuum the road, etc. This has provoked a strong feeling of my affection towards these Unsung Heroes. I wanted to show my gratitude towards them in some way. I approached Bee?ah management & requested them to allow us to serve a lobour camp with one meal & some delicacies which they normally do not have with a meal. With ?Serve the Heroes? team of approx 40 children & 10 Adults we landed at Al Sajja labour camp of Bee?ah (150 workers) on 28-Jun-13, early Friday Morning. Thanks to the generous contribution of the team, we were able to serve all of them with Biryani, Raita, Sweet, Juice, Water Bottle & a Big Mango fruit to top it all. The heat did not deter the children from attending to all the lot, they were smiling, giggling, jumping, and shouting. It was a kind of festivity for them. The laborers showed their gratitude on us. They felt loved, cared for and wanted in the society. We visited their house to serve them when they are resting. The Bee?ah management presented us with a certificate & a surprise goody bag. All the children shouted a big ?THANK YOU? to the lobourers. It was a small tribute from us to recognize these unsung heroes. |
