I am so proud to share that scores of SynergY members joined Give a Ghaf -Tree Planting Program by Goumbook on Friday 28^th 2013 from 8 am till 10.30 am at Greenworks, Dubai Al Barari Nursery and engaged for an hour of seed pods gathering and thereafter one hour of seed sorting.    

As the Founder of the group SynergY,  I am overwhelmed when I say We have shown our continued commitment in conveying the message louder and stronger that Dont let our future dry up. The ardor shown by the members as they disregarded severe heat and nearly 40 degrees high outdoor temperature to lend a hand to collect and increase the count for additional seeds preparation to be used in the forthcoming plantation season of Ghaf trees is a testimony to our stanchness by itself.  We are grateful to Give a Ghaf Tree Planting Program Goumbook for inviting us to experience this unique sorting out the best seeds and contributing to treat the young seedlings as well as any nursery tree, for an increased 70% chance to become a beautiful self-sufficient dessert tree.

 SynergY youth group has already pledged for 111 Ghaf Tree Plantation on the World Day to Combat Desertification 2013 which will be planted during the World Plantation Day in October 2013 by the members.  What moved SynergY members is the fact that -For every 5000 seeds, only 1 becomes a full grown tree in the wild making the harvesting of Ghaf trees extremely intricate.  Ghaf is an endangered tree that can penetrate up to 65 meters into the ground in search of water. In 2008 it was declared as the National tree of the UAE. Being drought-tolerant, evergreen tree native to the UAE, Ghaf is known for being among the sturdiest plants in callous desert environments.

Arushi Madan and Raunak Kapur were the other Tunza Eco Generation members who were also part of this initiative as SynergY members.
