         Green Hope UAE members recently volunteered to spend a day cleaning up a protected bioreserve. It is beautiful mountain reserve with deep rocky gorges and flowing water pools filled with freshwater fish. The scenery was awesome but on the ground we were shocked to see the amount of litter left behind by picnickers. The rock faces had also been defaced with graffitti . We were divided into groups and we spread out across the vast reserve to collect rubbish and clean the graffitti. The stunning scenery kept rejuvenating us everytime we paused to catch our breath. By the day end , we had collected huge piles of rubbish and also cleaned up a lot of the rock faces. Protecting these fragile ecosystems from degradation is essential for a sustainable future.
