Why should I choose a vegetarian diet???

by | 21-06-2013 13:52

While we were kids the exercises in book were so designed that we had to put the animals into the correct boxes if they were Herbivores, Carnivores or Omnivores. And without any doubts we placed humans into the Omnivores group. But today I feel, the time has come when we should be cautious about our diets not only for the sake of our health but also for keeping our mother Earth alive and livelier.

There may be several reasons where one can debate towards his carnivore or herbivore attitude. This article doesn't mean to debate with the feeding habits of individuals instead is merely a thought why should one choose vegetarian diets more often.
Today the world is facing a critical situation due to the shift in climatic patterns that used to be some 10 years ago. With modernization the global warming has increased and so has the degree of occurrence of natural calamities. And the reports have been published which points that animals are one of the major contributing factors for the emission of Green house gases. The animals emit CO2, methane and other gases that has increased the green house effect. How are animals a problem now???

Recently to meet the increasing demand of meat, the conventional farming system has been transformed into factory farming in which there is mass growth and production of animals and animal related stuffs and that has both tortured animal in one hand and increased the emission of green house gases on the other hand.
So, its an urge to all the meat lovers of the planet, if we can't change to vegetarian diets we must at least try to reduce the intake of meat and thus create a more safer world  to live in.
