    As a part of Environmental Day celebrations Green Globe organized it's Beach Clean-UP Campaign on 21st, June. It was a great success and it was attended by a commendable population. The Sharjah Government for the environment sector, United Arab Emirates gave us a wonderful support by providing all the articles needed. Refreshments were provided to everyone and everyone had a wonderful time. People got to know about each other and it was really fun event. I gave a speech at the end of the program regarding the environment and Green Globe and also the Bee'ah representative enlightened us about Bee'ah,s services The sad thing was that, there were nearly 20 bags full of garbage being collected by everyone. This much waste was produced by the beach visitors in one day. The garbage vehicle was nearly full. Machines are not capable of collecting every waste and so a lot of waste was found. Another thing that really troubled me was the amount of food waste collected. Nearly 3-4 bags were only of food waste. There are millions dying due to starvation but we do not care. We live in luxury and we don't know about their plight. Why should they suffer just because they are born poor. It is our mistake and we have to help protect them. Lat but not the least we also thank Tunza Eco-Generation for also helping us achieve this milestone.
