![]() Do you know, how much unusable water in the world? According to UNESCO (2011), there is 99 % unusable water of all water (oceans, ice, most saline water and atmospheric water). The remaining fraction of 1 % water is usable and stored in the ground comprising 99 % in groundwater, 0.86 % in lakes and 0.02 % in rivers. There are two kinds of water which are surface water and ground water. Surface water can be found in a surface of the earth such as river, lake, sea and so forth. Ground water is a result of precipitation reaching the soil until being saturated water. However, two types of water above can be polluted by contaminants although the most irresistible is surface water. Water is one of the part of our life so that it is yours and mine. We should be grateful to God because the water cycle, known as the hydrological cycle, can maintain the sustainability of water in the earth. However, when there are disturbances because of environmental destruction, deforestration and water pollution the dynamic exchange of water will be obstructed. It is positively right as water plays role toward human being?s life. Beyond the above, there are some examples of the water utilization in daily activities. In agriculture areas, water is crucial for irrigation, aquaculture and livestock. Water also benefits to industry where it can be used as solvent on manufacturing and chemical processes. In addition, water is basically consumed in household for gardening, cooking, bathing, drinking and sanitation. A demand for humankinds is to encourage equitable and rational use of water. We must be non-consumptive and wise person in using water. Even, some countries such as Indonesia, China, Cambodia, Vietnam and Uzbekiztan have applied water regulations with emphasizing on multiple use. It intends why there is a prominent event of water, which is known as the World Water Day. The message learned from the passage is a advice to utilize water properly and to conserve the source of water in the world through green life style.
