   As a buildup to the United Nations Economic and Social Council West Asia , Arab RIM (Regional Implementation Meeting) of 2013 , the Major Groups met in Dubai in end May . The venue of this prestigious United Nations meeting was the Dubai Police Academy. Only official accredited delegates were allowed and I attended this conference in my official capacity as the Global Coordinator and Representative of the Major Groups of Children and Youth. I was the only youth to attend this meeting from the region. In its resolution A/RES/66/288 of 11 September 2012, the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the outcome document from the Rio+20 conference, entitled ?The Future We Want?. At this major groups meeting, we discussed the role of the Major Groups in the ?Future we want? and how to link regional MGs to the organizing partners. |
