World Environment Day 2013 in Bangladesh

Volunteer for Bangladesh, the volunteer platform of JAAGO Foundation have celebrated World Environment Day-2013 under the slogan ?Respect Environment, Respect Human Rights?, said by the authority. The event included tree plantation in the 100 selected educational institutions of Sylhet, Narayanganj, Gazipur, Rajshahi, Jhalokati, Bhola Feni, Jessore, Rangpur, Pirojpur, Dhaka and Chittagong on 5th June and 1000 seedlings have been sent to various reputed corporate companies on this day. Furthermore, there will be a cycle rally on 7th June to promote environment friendly transport. The main goals of celebrating World Environment Day-2013 are to make youth aware about the significance of saving environment and protecting human rights together. Around 600 volunteers worked hard to make this event successful. All the volunteers have been given certificate for their hard work.

Volunteer for Bangladesh (VBD) has distributed World Environment day?s flyers, door hangers and bookmarks to general people, educational institute and to the corporate companies in an attempt to create awareness. This event is supported by Coca Cola Bangladesh, Islamic Relief Bangladesh and National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
