          Last 2 days (on Friday and Saturday 31st May-1st June) I participated in a very interesting competition cum tournament called WSC(World Scholar Cup) 2013. 595 students from UAE and Srilanka participated in this tournament. It's format is very unique. Teams have to be of 3 members of same or different schools. It consists of 4 team events as follows: Team Debate:3 Rounds Collaborative Writing Scholar's Challenge Scholar's Bowl In Scholar's Bowl : We felt like we were on a TV quiz show. All 595 students sat together with their teammates in a giant auditorium. We were given a high-tech clicker to give our answers to multiple choice questions on 5 different subjects . We were supposed to press the right answer on our clickers within 30 seconds. It was really fun. On the second day , there was a segment where we scholars were asked if we want to perform any of our talent on the stage. I opted to dance , some scholar's did gymnastics , played guitar , or sang song. Then came the closing ceremony or the award ceremony. I was thrilled to be awarded as Top Scorer of my team. Also I was in the honorable mention for top individuals in debate and scholar's challenge. Our team was the 12th best team and we finally qualified for the Global Round. |
