Last week, I visited the Goyang International Flower Festival, which is held annually at Lake Park. I could see all kinds of flowers including rose, cactus, and iris along with trees such as pine trees and mangroves.

           This year was especially exciting because they also introduced various eco-friendly plants that were newly developed.  For example, there was a plant specially designed to purify air. There was also trees that could absorb amazing amounts of floodwater.

           Yet the most interesting one was the hanging flower wall. It is true that I have seen various plant walls at other exhibitions and buildings. Yet what was special about this wall was that they contained bright flowers instead of simple plants. I thought it would be great to use them at special events such as weddings and presidential interviews. A lot of flowers are just used once and are then thrown away. This special flower wall could solve that problem since it can be used again even if the petals fall down.

           I was glad to see so many people paying attention to various plants. The next time you come to Korea during March, don?t forget to visit the Goyang International Flower Festival!
