by Jayden Kim | 23-10-2022 06:17

Renewable energy in the United States have becoming higher and higher in percentage each other. According to Inside Climate News, as one of the leading countries in implementing renewable energy, the US has increased in national percentage of electricity generation from 19.5 percent in the first quarter in 2021, to 23.5 percent in the first quarter in 2022. Natural gas is still the main source of electricity with 34.7 percent, but this number is declining. Renewable energy is especially important in the US, as it is one of the largest energy using country in the world. Cities such as Los Angeles are banning most gas appliances in newly built homes, and more and more renewable energy sources are being used such as hydroelectric, solar, wind, etc.

As electricity is becoming more and more important to society as it already is, the importance of using renewable energy is crucial to the world's environment. The US is very notable in adding policies and laws regarding issues of renewable energy and limiting non-renewable energy.

According to Forbes.com, new solar panels that are more powerful and adaptable photovoltaically will be used in solar power and in wind turbines to help increase power generation as well.
