       My school Delhi Private School-Sharjah is one of the very few schools of UAE who are putting in their efforts towards green living and conservation of environment. Recently on 14th April , the first off grid solar panel was installed in our school to run /power the boys canteen for 6 hours daily. This is a step towards adopting green energy for our school. Our school participated actively in Beea'h environment walk on 22nd April 2013. It further reaffirmed its green commitment by celebrating Earth day by pledging to save our planet , conducting inter house competition(best out of the waste competition). All these activities aimed at saving our planet, our only home?we have nowhere else to go, and all the participants echoed the feeling that we are concerned about the environment. Each member of DPS Sharjah had taken the onus to spread the message ACROSS. Also in the month of April , our school took the Eco Commitee members(including me as Eco Commitee member) to visit the unique"The Change Initiative", one of its kind store to promote various ways of adopting sustainability in our day to day lives. The efforts of DPS Sharjah to become a sustainable eco-friendly school was widely acclaimed and applauded in January 2013 edition of premier business and industry magazine ?Power & Water Middle East?. The article elaborated and appreciated the initiatives taken by our school in promoting awareness among students, teachers and community as a whole on preserving and caring for the environment.Currently Can collection campaign is running full fledged in our school. Today we had Eco Audit in our school . Our school is leaving no stone unturned to achieve "Green Flag certification"
