At least 40 per cent of the world?s economy and 80 per cent of the needs of the poor are derived from biological resources. In addition, the richer the diversity of life, the greater the opportunity for medical discoveries, economic development, and adaptive responses to such new challenges as climate change (The Convention on Biodiversity website).

Biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth. Based on my study I got, it is divided into 3 kinds of biodiversity which are gene level, species level and ecosystem level.

The diversity of genes could be referred  as blue print of species whereas the diversity of species could be seen by many kinds of species in the world. Another type is ecosystem level where it is so comprehensive since it includes many types of the united different species such as rain forests, desert, bioma, coral reefs, etc.

There are positively advantages of biodiversity could be reviewed into 3 benefits which are ecosystem services, biological resources and social benefit. The first benefits are like water resources protection, pollution breakdown, nutrient recycling, ecosystem maintenance and so on.

Meanwhile, the second benefits comprise wood products, ornamental plants, breeding stock, medicinal resources and so forth. The last is social benefits comprising research, ecotourism, cultural value, etc.
