![]() On 29th April (Monday), 2013 The National Parliament House just revise the previous law passed in 2005 mentioning 50 BDT as fine making it 300 BDT. The revised law also bans all kinds of direct & indirect advertisement tobaco industries rather abandoning them to publish 50% of cigarette cover must be used warning message to the smoker. The new law also includes Gul & Zarda under tobaco product. The public place has also been clarified mentioning park, restaurants, cafe, campus, private organizations etc. Tobacco kills 57,000 people while affecting more than 350,000 people with various ingredients in Bangladesh. About 43.3% adults are linked up to smoking & Bangladesh is the country where smoking product are cheapest one. The main challenge of the law is implementation as .the authority is givien to only UNO & Health officer.
