Baguio City is feeling warmer from Climate Change

by Bam Azores | 29-04-2013 12:27

Baguio City is the coldest city in the whole Philippines because of its very high average elevation of 5,000 feet above sea level. To get there you have to travel by land for about five hours or by plane for an hour from Manila. By car, you will go up several mountains.

Filipinos and foreign visitors flock to Baguio City during the summer months to enjoy the cold weather. But this summer, the temperature has been rising and almost reaching 30 degrees centigrade.  The place no longer boasts of "sweater weather" since it has become warmer in recent years.

There has been a gradual rise in temperature since the 1980s and what is scary is insects and disease that thrive in warm weather are now being seen in Baguio City.  This is another sign of climate change in the world today.
