          Today I went to a birthday party and was sad to see hostess throwing coke cans. Most of the people still are not aware of the harmful effects of disposing off the stuff which can be recycled. By disposing them off like this , they are adding to the landfill which eventually disturbs the balance and hence the climate. Aluminium is costly , thats whay also it is important to collect these cans and submit for recycling. There are so many recycling centres around like EEG accepts them for recycling , Bee'ah has recycling machines(reverse vending machines) , company called Enviroserve..... Looks like , we need to spread awareness about the cans , their recyclability and the sideeffects of landfilling. EEG is one company which has been regularly campaigning for can collection. This year's Can Collection drive/Campaign was organised in all emirates of UAE by EEG. I was a volunteer in Sharjah for this drive. This took place at Radisson Blu hotel in Sharjah. I was glad to see quite a number of individuals and institutional representatives coming and depositing cans . More & more people need to think in that direction. |
