This Universal song for the Earth Day resounded in my mind when I was amongst the wonderful gathering of about 1400 people from all walks of life at the Bee?ah walkathon to celebrate Earth day on April 22. This was the second walkathon organised by Beeah that stretched a 4km route from Al Qasba in Sharjah to the Al Majaz waterfront helping to raise awareness on the importance of recycling and the protection of the environment. I was really proud to be part of this wonderful event. 

Starting at about 5pm from Al Qasba, residents walked to Al Majaz Park and around a 2km walking track made of recycled tyres.This jogging track is the first initiative of it?s kind in the region, made possible by the environmental and waste management company BEEAH. A total of 6,000 recycled tyres were used to make this jogging track.The running track was alongside the scenic beauty of the Corniche.

Participants and guests also celebrated the first anniversary of my Bee?ah by availing the special offers from the myBeeah loyalty programme .Reverse vending machines were set up to reward the registered members with loyalty points. After the 4km walk, we had fun by playing games and having refreshments. The event was over by 6:30 pm and it was truly a fun-filled day.
