(October free report) Solar energy technologies

by Nadir Huseynov | 20-10-2022 14:54

Solar panels are devices that convert solar energy into electricity through photocells, which are made of light-sensitive semiconductor materials and consist of several layers framed in a common frame. At this time, the greater the intensity of light, the higher the movement of electrical energy. Through solar panels, solar energy is produced in the form of direct current (DC), and then from power converters that convert this energy into alternating current (AC) for integration into the grid - inverters are used. Concentrated solar power (Concentrated Solar Power - CSP), mirrors that collect solar rays are used to produce electricity in large-scale power plants. A concentrated solar power plant typically has an area surrounded by mirrors that direct the sun's rays to a tall, thin tower. Solar collectors consist of a metal heat exchanger with channels through which air, water, or other heat transfer media move. There are types of collectors without concentrator, concentrator, open and closed type. Flat concentrator solar collectors are currently considered the most widely used type. Due to its efficiency, the use of solar collectors is better justified in decentralized energy systems.
