by Sagar Koirala | 20-10-2022 22:50

As, Recent data from UNICEF 6 out of 10 youth involve and engage in activism from the Asia Pacific Region. This regional spotlight provides a deeper understanding of the perception, attitude, challenges and readiness of young youth from this region around climate, Human right, generation and Sustainable development goals activism related vulnerability and their action plan for looming threats. Which leads forward recommendations for effective youth engagement and climate action which include UN SDG action.

Key things to highlight:

There are systemic barriers to meaningful youth engagement in these regions, especially amongst vulnerable and marginalized groups.

Youth who are involved and engaged actively on those Seven in ten participants in the region have never participated in climate change awareness or mitigation activities, but feel they have an important role in climate resilience.

Those who are highlighted on many sectors are only given the main priority to work on many International though, others worked very hard to achieve that platform.

Supporting young people for international platforms:

The initiative will provide a platform for the ¡®unheard¡¯ or 'backed' voices in the climate conversation and policy making– young people – and engages those who would otherwise not have the opportunity to raise their voice, including people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, young women, people from rural areas and other minority and at-risk groups. This will create a very vast difference after giving priority to those unheard voices because those people have ample of knowledge, experience even though they didn't engage on various platforms.

Contributing to climate action:

This has to raise awareness amongst global and national leaders and other stakeholders all around the specific needs and concerns of South Asia and pacific young people. It is a great opportunity for Climate Action – a collective statement can be created from young people globally on climate change and action, directly addressing the various events like COP, COY, WFF and many others.

Reinforcing priorities:

This is an awareness amongst global and national leaders and other stakeholders around the specific needs and concerns of South Asia and the pacific young people. It has been a priority to bring massive change for a better world. As engagement all have done the same work but all have to get a chance in order to make better team management for further.

Question to be raised to Institute and stakeholder, why only one priority?

As, aspect of Country which can't be mentioned. More than a 1000+ activists are working actively but for institutional and various event only one or two people are getting involved. Others are just helping out to get that activist to reach their after working a year. It is not good for nations' activism and reality for future development. This will create dishearten to other young people who are dedicating their time on activism. It may creat a massive loss to nations finding as they might get job or get back where they came from beside Climate related work.

To reduce loss all, have to create momentum to make young people feel scared for global diplomacy, policy making and other. Their hard work should be pay off. We have to create environment where everyone get chance for change not one, all have to be in front.
