IMPACT OF MY WORK IN THE ENVIRONMENT

by | 31-03-2013 04:39

Human is the only organism of bipedalism on earth. Through its inquisitiveness driven knowledge and biological supremacy, it has dominated all the fellow denizens of the planet and have procured a superior niche for itself. Very early during evolution, humans started to use environment to fulfill its bodily needs. Be it for food or shelter, human started to increase its dependency on nature. Though other organisms also depended on nature for meeting their basic needs but the way humans manipulated the environmental products was extraordinary. Slowly and consequently humans obtained growth in mental and physical abilities. Thus it was smarter enough to construct tools for manipulating the biotic factors. Now when the humans have developed so much, the dependency in nature have increased to an extent that, it has been literally exploiting the environment. The Renaissance and other artificial evolutions have surged up the industries and this helped in the mechanization of human life. Mechanization deepened the extent of dependency towards nature in one hand, while on the other, by-products of the industries had a direct toll on the environment.

For instance, I ride bicycle from my place to the college. In one way, I'm being healthy and in the other, I'm reducing pollution. Whenever I go shopping for grocery, I invariably take jute handbags with me. I do not use plastic unless it is inevitable. As most we know that plastic is not good for clean and green environment. So reduction in its use is always laudable.

I would not claim that my efforts for minimizing negative impact on the environment are big enough.  I confess that I am equally involved in deteriorating the environment as I am in conserving it. However I have tried to work for environment conservation and make the earth a better place to live for the generations to come.
