![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The term of the year: Water Cooperation In the article of 9th March 2013, I said that the Water Day event by Rwandan youth will take place on 19th March 2013 it has been a little change of dates according to the availability of government authorities. As it was scheduled we have begun by walking from Nyabugogo National Car Park to the Mpazi river and begin the community building activity and after hand work we have had a conference at 12: 00 PM at Kimisagara Youth Center. The event involved youth four Youth Based Organizations working within Rwanda (Rwanda Young Water Professionals, Young Volunteers for Environment, Rwanda Youth Alliance for Climate Actions and Rwanda WASH Media). Apart youth we have been also supported by Government through Rwanda Natural Resource Authority( RNRA) had sent their representatives, EWSA(Energy, Water and Sanitation Authority) representatives were there and a chair man of WaterAid International in Rwanda, local authorities and local youth cooperatives working within surrounding Mpazi river. We have had a wonderful interesting day that you can?t imagine, for the next time I invite all Tunza members to come and join us. We have met at 7: 30 am at Nyabugogo National Car Park bearing our organizations T- shirt with banners. We took materials and begin the walking to Mpazi river. We clean up the river (as shown on the photo 1)till 11: 30 and went to Kimisagara Youth Center for the conference. Different personalities have taken speeches: The representative of RNRA Vincent de Paul Kabalisa he said that strategies have been made to handle the problem of Mpazi river, the river will never destroy infrastructures, and take off life of people. And that he said also that the Mpazi river is not a waste land we have to make its awareness. The chairman of WaterAid International in Rwanda said that the water management in Rwanda has to be improved in order to resolve the problem of lack of water at our homes. The representative of EWSA said they will always be there to assist in resolving all problems concerning water. The President of Rwanda Young Water Professionals (Francois- Xavier Tetero) said that some of the problems that Rwanda have, us youth we can resolve them on ourselves. And that the event has been prepared by youth in partnership with other organizations to make awareness that we are able and ready to resolve our problems.
