  The Hatirjheel-Begunbari project has become the centre recreation to the city dwellers due to its panoramic beauty for the aesthetic view of venue. The 302-acre Hatirjheel has turned into a space where the people can spend their leisure time with natural beauty as the city has very opportunity of open space. The visitors often visit this place from morning to till midnight with hampering the landscape of the jheel. It was seen that most areas of the site were left strewn with litters like plastic water bottles and bags, cigarette butts, cigarette packets, papers, paper bags, waste from different food items, coconut shells, tissue papers as the visitors dump those on the roads, pavements, bridges and even in the lake as the place has very few bins to drop wastes. Now the time is to protect the area from being polluted besides enjoying its recreational facilities. So proper waste management system must be implemented soon. Awareness creation may be the best way to improve the waste management system rather than any other process. Only proper awareness can bring a good culture to us for having everything okey as littering is a cultural problem of us. Involvement of local people as well as participation of youth as volunteer can perfectly increase the efficiency of well maintenance. On the other hand the government body must be active along with private sectors on this burning issue of hatirheel.
