National Consultations: Post 2015

by | 18-02-2013 20:16

In 2000 people sat in a room and created a document that would chage the world forever- "The Millenuim Development Goals (MDGs)". They wanted to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, achieve universal primary education, empower women and promote gender equality. Reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, reduce HIV/AIDS and other diseases and ensure environmental sustainability plus develop a global partnership for development.
But something was missing, OUR VOICE!
UNICEF Zambia and its One UN partners kicked off a national consultation for children and young people on the post-2015 development agenda when Representative Dr. Iyorlumun J. Uhaa was interviewed over the weekend on "Teen Fusion," a show which airs nationally on MUVI-TV in Zambia. The !--object--ive of the consultations is to allow children, adolescents and youth to contribute to the development of the post-2015 development framework.
