     Day by day, scientists are helping us to better understand the fundamental laws that make our weather work. There is no escaping the weather. As an offspring of daily variations of air temperature, moisture and pressure, all directed by the life-giving energy of the sun. Wherever we live, we are at its whim. Yet with the development of satellite imaging and computer modeling, meteorologist and climatologists are increasingly able to monitor and predict Earth's weather patterns, not only for tomorrow, but for decades, even centuries, to come. As part my curiosity to understand more about flood that hit Jakarta recently pr I attended the "Press and Student 2013 Gathering - Conservation of Water Resources " (January 31- February 2, 2013). There I learned a lot about weather and global warming, while admiring the beatiful of in Citeko village, Bogor, whose temperature is so sold (especially if you have no blanket on the bed in the evening).
