Report on Annual Plantation ceremony at Department of Environmental Sciences,Quaid e Azam university.

Like the previous years Quaid e Azam University organized a tree plantation ceremony to celebrate the World Environment day on 5th June.The program was arranged by the department of Environmental Sciences. The ceremony was held at botanical garden of the university. Students and teachers of the cited department held a two kilometers awareness walk from the department to the garden. Students were holding play cards and banners with different slogans like “plant trees, save the earth ”,“earth is our last hope” to make the people aware of the benefits of plantation and bad effects of deforestation. 

Respected vice chancellor attended the ceremony as a chief guest. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest at 10 AM who also planted a plant in the garden. After inauguration by the chief guest, about 500 plant samplings, which were delivered from the forest department were planted at the garden.The ceremony continued till 1 PM through various other events besides plantation like refreshments,gaming etc. 

All the participants were very excited as the program was very energetic and fascinating which made the whole audience spellbound. Such programs full of awareness and enjoyment should be held on regular basis. Students should be encouraged to arrange and take part in such ceremonies.These type of activities will help them boost their potential and increase knowledge and interest in the field.
