Surabaya, Indonesia - Clean Up the River is important because it is related with many issues, including water, health, sanitation, as well as biodiversity. Nanis Chairani, the Head of Public Relation from Surabaya Government stated that this clean up the river program is focused along the river of Petekan to Pintu Air Jagir and Karang Pilang, into Medokan Semampir. The activity is not only for the employees, but also the other elements, such as security people, policemen, academics (students, teachers, lectures), institutions, corporations, non-government organizations, and others. This program is held for the first time in last November.
