After travelling for 45 minutes I reached my place for accommodation  at  Jeevan  jyothi  retreat  house a nice place with full of greenery matching with the occasion for COP 11. On 11th i just roamed around jeevan jyothi retreat house enjoying the natural beauty , in the night i was also involved in arranging and decorating the conference hall where we had the conference for the first day. The first day the session was started by Ms  Madhavi Joshi from  CEE and Livleen Kahlon from TERI they gave the first session on Biodiversity and  COP. They asked us to introduce and to speak, what we know about biodiversity, then they provided their valuable inputs about biodiversity conservation and information about  interdependency of all the life forms on the earth. After 1 hour of session we had a tea break  after the tea break we had a small presentation given by Mr.  Murali from YETI his presentation was mainly concentrated on how YETI was formed and what is the work done by them.

The main session by Mr. Ravi Chellam from wildlife conservation society  started after the  presentation by Mr. Murali , he gave his valuable comments regarding endangered species and the conservation of biodiversity. After his session we had a 1 hour lunch break followed by a 2 short movies- Stories in stone and back to the roots , the movies were based on environment.

The last session was based on Values and ethics the session was mainly concentrated on Earth Charter International and its activities around the globe the session was presided over by Executive Director of Earth Charter Mirian Vilela. Before the tea break we were given the group  assignment for the day the assignment was to figure out the problems relating to biodiversity in different areas in a chart paper. The subject for my group was  forest and its biodiversity related problems. We stated problems like Deforestation, Forest encroachment, Climate change etc we were given 30 minutes for the assignment. I used our Eco-generation pencils which was given by Tunza Eco-generation for the assignment . The first day was like an ice breaking session where we were able to understand the concept of biodiversity and COP 11 in a better way.
