![]() ![]() Are you familiar with the white-furry polar bear from Coca-cola commercial? Well, I am. And shocking fact is that we may not be able to see those polar bears, strolling across the arctic in the future. Due to the climate change, the hybrid of two species are spotting commonly in the wild: half polar and half grizzly. Grizzly bears are usually living in Alaska and northern part of Canada. Milder temperature and melting ice in the arctic enable grizzly bears to travel further north and breed with polar bears. Scientists are concerned that whether this inter-breeding would pose a threat to the existing arctic species such as beluga whales, arctic fox and caribou. On the other hand, scientists argue that this inter breeding will help the species from extinction by man-made climate change. There are potential hybrids in the future, if this trend of northern and southern species encounter will go on. The meeting among red fox, killer whales and white-deer to their northern cousins. Another sad truth of man-made climate change, still difficult to register.
