![]() The objective of the rehabilitation is to promote environmental awareness and also to campaign for better hygiene and sanitation within the school and also proper land management. The project that is to kick off within this month of July and fully supported by E-Gen Ambassador with the support of the school administration. Initially, this was a piece of land within the school compound that has been a dumpsite. Stray animals were all over the place and thus causing lack of concentration to the students due to their noise. It was used by public but within the school?s involvement, it got fenced. I have felt that same land can be rehabilitated for better use and made green. This being a positive idea, the school was supportive towards this. This will involve planting of dryland tree species that can provide good shade and also establishment of a school tree nursery. Through taking care of the trees, the school will be properly manageing the nursery as a source of income generating activity for the school. The compound is safe from stray animals that have been a great threat in all greening projects in this area. The project will be owned by the school?s environmental club with its membership being young children of different ages. |
