A few weeks before, I?ve become one of IPB representative for SUIJI annual meetings.  SUIJI is Six Universities Initiative Japan-Indonesia, an annual meeting for Ehime, Kochi, Kagawa, IPB, Gadjah Mada and Hasanuddin University.  In this annual meeting, about 60 student from 6 University meet to discuss about Energy, Food and Environment as the theme.  IPB became the host for this event, pent 3 days in Bogor, all participant will sign Bogor Declaration.

In environment theme, student from IPB give presentation about pet, UGM about banana waste management and Hasanudin about orchid conservation.  Beside that, Japanese student present paper about they nuclear powerplant problem.  People divided into 2 group, support and against opinion for nuclear powerplant.  Another student present about food and energy problem, they said that Japan need to increase self-sufficiency of food and energy to solve population and environment problem.  Student from Kochi Univrsity present paper about forest issue in Japan, compared to Indonesia, the issues are contradictive.  The number of forest has been decreasing in Indonesia, but devastated in Japan.  In their mind, it is important not to change healthy forest to devastated forest in Japan.  This meeting is the right place to campaign environmental awareness.
