In tandem with the Rio+20 Earth Summit , another summit of gigantic proportions and popularity was held in Rio de Janeiro titled The People's Summit. Called "CUPULA DOS POVOS" , this was truly a congregation which voiced the concerns of the civil society and the social movement and served as a foil to the official negotiations being conducted at the Earth Summit . All major speakers who attended the Rio+20 , such as Mr Achim Steiner , also attended this congregation and mingled and spoke to the audience .

Ms Vandana Shiva , India's outspoken activist , who fought against the patents of multinationals was a big draw at this summit . It was a great privilege for me to meet her in person and share my work with her . Her words of encouragement will inspire me forever.

I was also the YOUNGEST SPEAKER at the People's Summit . UNCSD MGCY chose me as their delegate to repesent THE VOICE OF THE CHILDREN at a symposium titled "BEYOND 2015 -- THE RIO LEGACY" . I shared the panel with eminent speakers from Italy , Australia , India , Central Africa and Costa Rica and put forward our plans and strategies to carry forward the Rio+20 movement into our respective regions of influence.

The entire proceedings were simultaenously transalated into Portugese for the benefit of the large of audience of indigenous people from the Amazon who attended the event.
