![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() During Environment month celebration, we got the opportunity to spend time in Forest with Mr Zimpa Karma Bhutia , IFS and learned many things from him about birds, mainly the birds of Jharkhand. It was 13th. Jun?12, we reached to one nearest forest beside Hudco lake in Jamshedpur at 6 AM along with camera , cool water and note book. Shibajyoti took his morning jogging diet wetted Chana and Mug dal along with small pieces of ginger in one jute bag to eat in forest along with team. This is a small forest beside the lake and Sumant Mulgaonkar park. Our bird specialist Mr Bhutia was invited by Mr. Prasant Krishnan, DM – (Environment & Effluent Mgmt) of Tata Motors to support us for bird watching.
Mr. Bhutia is an officer of Indian Forest Service ( IFS 1997 batch ). He was born and brought up in Forest area of Sikkim, on Himalayan state of India. He had served as DFO in Kolhan Division of Chaibasa, Jharkhand and Garhwa in Garhwa District. Five years back he went for a deputation to his home state Sikkim, wherein he had served as
In the morning, we around 15 members team were there with him in the forest. He was showing us different types of birds, educating us how to indentify birds by hiring their sound , their special feature etc. He had explained about territory birds and other similarity with animals and human. By his powerful camera, he was collecting close view of the birds available in the forests and showing to us with details description of the birds. The practical session was very interesting to all of us. Beside birds, he was explaining about tress, butter fly, insects etc. He had shown us tiger butterfly and other living being available in the forest. The officers of Tata Motors , Mr.P V H RAO [ AGM (Horticulture & Town Water Mgmt) and Mr. P.C.Prasad had also shared their knowledge of forest and environmental issues of Jharkhand. During his service life he had visited most of the forest of this southern Jharkhand area and gathered wide knowledge about birds and animals of this area. He had supplied us the attached photographs of the Birds of Jharkhand. The bird like Copper smith, Drango, Koel, Magpai Robin, Myna, Pariah Kite, Red vented bulbul, rose ringed parakeet and spotted dove are available here and shown here for our friends. |
