![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() She's confident and determined..she compassionate and magnanimous by heart.. She's emotional too.. She's is Abha Goel, National Coordinator of Green Youth Generation representing IP University, New Delhi who organized this noble event in New Delhi, India to bring out creativity of small girls with the help of waste materials. ![]() Green Youth Generation honor "Abha Goel" by presenting a title "Green National Coordinator of the Week". Her article: *There is an NGO called ?DIL SE(By Heart)? that works for the welfare of the slum children and who were the ostensible victims of Gujarat 2002 riots.* *It has a home based in Delhi, Kashmiri Gate which provides shelter to girls aged between 5 - 20.* *We organised a ?best out of waste material? competition for the girls in an age group of 5-10 where these little damsels showed their creativity and showed a keen interest in protecting the environment. They were provided with thermo cols, chart papers, glaze papers, left out newspapers, magazine covers, trinkets, cardboard pieces, bangles, bindis and phew the list is long.* *They were given an hour?s time and they came out with innovations!!* *Few made the photo frames starring ?newspaper celebrities? on the screen; others made puppets out of socks and the remaining rolled the newspapers to get human like figures. They were exuberant and so was their work; FRESH and NATURE FRIENDLY!!* *Otherwise the things that might have found space in a dustbin or on the roadside were then proudly being picture captured and were being exhibited in the kilkari home. So, I can say that the ?remains? were the best ?reused?, a futuristic approach to safeguard the nature. Also, such materials basically the ?handicrafts? can help few underprivileged to earn money and undoubtedly it is a source of income for majority living in the urban areas but are incompatible to fit in the competitive environment. * *Its to shout and say WE NEED OUR NATURE NOT OUR NATURE NEED US!!* From the times immemorial nature has evolved and taken different forms, so , it is for us to understand that over exploitation can force it to destruct itself and then re construct but yes, in this process we will be lost forever. So, its our call to protect the nature; to protect the human specie!! Balraj Arpit Founder & President greenyouthgeneration@gmail.com |
