Yes, after lot of initiatives, more than two  million  Jharkhandis ( the peoples of Jhakhand) had celebrated this year Earth day 2012 at Jhatkhand.  After  becoming the Ambassador of Jharkhand I, RajashreeChoudhury  was trying  to involve all classes of people  to inform about the ? Earth Day? and to involve them for it?s celebration.  

In the Initial stage, I  had requested  Dr. Syed Ahmad , the honorable Governor of Jharkhand  ,  Shri Arjun Munda, The Chief Minister of Jharkhand  and   Shri Sudesh Mahto , The Dy. Chief Minister and Environmental minister of Jharkhand state to spread message through official circular. I got assurance about the celebration in different offices of   Jharkhand.

In the same time involved national news papers and  different institutions  of Jharkhand  for circulation of news on the earth day and encourage peoples of Jharhand accordingly. All the newspapers had covered the news on important of  ? Earth day? and Clarified our roll to be  played.  

Most of the school had their own program like poster making, debate, cultural  function , plantation, offering of plants and painting contest   etc. Few  photographs of the ?Earth day? are attached here.

Our  JCGC members had written below poem and circulated for motivation our friends. We had protested against ? cutting of 4000 nos. trees at Patna airport?, arranged cleaning at our locality Ghorabandha, participated painting contest etc.

The Earth day needs to be celebrated

Let us  reduce the load of our  earth,

Increased on  following   short cut path,

Need to review it, without  delay

On 22^nd. April,  in International Earth day.

Let us reduce our loan on mother Earth,

We all are defaulters  since our birth.

Getting plenty from Her big tray,

Try to  return by celebrating the Earth day.

Let us reduce the pain of the Earth

By pollution, violation having high worth.

Need to plan, act, correct  and convey

To relief Her  since the  Earth day.

Let us recover the damages of the Earth,

Since when the science and industry start.

Observe all it on 22^nd. April,  Sunday,

On  Gaylord Nelson?s earth day.
