  I am an active member of my school?s conservation club called the ?Eco Club? . Under the guidance of our teacher we have launched a water conservation campaign . The first step in this direction is to reduce the usage and wastage of water in school and in our homes . We noticed that a lot of water is wasted while flushing the toilets. We decided to reduce the capacity of the cistern by placing small bottles inside the cistern. This is a very simple but effective way of reducing the volume of the cistern and consequently of the water stored in it which is used for flushing. Apart from my school , I also implemented this project at home and in my neighborhood by canvassing the idea.Over a period of time, we obtained a 26% reduction in water consumption. This project enabled us to win the 2nd place in the Conservation Award awarded by the city municipality. |
