PROJECT EARTH- WATER CONSERVATION AWARD 2011 WINNER BY DUBAI ELECTRICITY AND WATER AUTHORITY PROJECT PARTICIPATION

by Simran Vedvyas | 08-01-2012 06:26

WATER CONSERVATION - As water is a non-renewable resource which is depleting at fast rate due to various reasons and over exploitation, and many countries will face shortage by 2025.

As a member of my school GREEN TEAM, we embarked on the project and also won the CONSERVATION AWARD 2011, By Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, as in within a span of one year we produced results of significant reduction in the consumption of Water and Electricity by making effort towards conservation.

Since we followed best practices and I made research on various aspects related to the project, my overall knowledge about the subject improved  and I also understood the danger our ?Planet Earth and the residents? face today.

I WAS CHOSEN TO DESIGN AND PRINT information flyers and our team of members went ahead to educate various segments of the society

-           To try and conserve water to the fullest.

-           To know and understand the importance of sustainable development and

-           To work towards achieving sustainable neighbourhood and communities.

I wish to continue and spread more awareness and let many follow this.  I am using all possible media and resources presently for this too.

Goals- If members from all segments of the society get together and work towards one goal–

-           Try and conserve water to the fullest.

By Understanding the importance of sustainable development and work towards achieving sustainable neighbourhood and communities.

I hope to work for the cause in my region - at least in 5-7 countries and be able to reach out to more and more.
